6 Wellness Treatments & Activities For Your Back-To-School Routine

Posted by Dr. Kris Wusterhausen on August 29, 2019

Having the kids home during the summer can be a lot of fun. You’ll have vacations, trips to the park, and art projects that ensure your kitchen table will never be the same again.

However, it’s safe to say we all look forward to getting back to a normal routine when school is back in session. While summer is about kid-friendly and family activities, back to school is all about you, mom.

So what are some things you can do for yourself now that your days are your own? How can you revitalize yourself — and look and feel better than ever?

Sit tight and read on, because the Resurge Clinic has some fantastic tips for how you can spend your newly-free weekdays.

1.
Yoga & Zumba Classes

These fun group classes can help you maintain an active lifestyle, and the intense calorie burning can help you lose weight fast. Both Yoga and Zumba are great for improving flexibility and mobility. They’re also perfect for every athletic level, so you’ll still be able to enjoy yourself even if you haven’t worked out in a few months (or years).

If you’re concerned about not being able to see your class through, consider getting a personal trainer. A personal trainer helps you stick to your workout plan and keeps you accountable. Studies have shown that the dropout rate for working out is roughly 43 percent, while people who work out with a trainer or a partner have a dropout rate at just over 6 percent. That’s quite a difference!

2. IV Therapy

The summer can drain you of all your energy and spunk. Fortunately, IV therapy replenishes low energy levels. intravenous therapy sends healing micronutrients straight to your bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system, which allows the nutrients to be completely absorbed in a short period of time.  Plus, it boosts your immune system before flu season arrives.

The Resurge Clinic has several cocktails to choose from depending on your needs. Whatever you choose, your body is sure to soak the goodness up like a summer rain in the desert.

3. SculpSure

Have you been eating right and exercising, only to find that stubborn areas of fat refuse to go away? If you’ve done all the right things and still are struggling with problem areas, SculpSure might be a good option for you.

The proven, non-invasive treatment will melt away fat so that you can look incredible for the holidays. SculpSure melts away up to 43 percent of fat cells in the areas treated in only 30 minutes—permanently! For best results, you will need to complete a series of treatments, so get started now for an amazing body by the holiday season.

4. HydraFacial

Summer takes a toll on your skin. From sun exposure to pool chlorine, your skin is exposed to harsh chemicals and toxins every time you’re out in the sun. By the time summer is over, you’ll need a complete overhaul to renew and revitalize your complexion.

HydraFacial combines intense, deep cleaning with hydrating nutrients to reveal your most beautiful and radiant skin. Not only will it make you look amazing, but the pampering treatment will also make you feel amazing.

5. Infused water

Have you been drinking enough water this summer? Drinking lots of water plays a key role in your overall health, skin hydration, and even weight loss!

There are plenty of fruits in-season right now that you can add to filtered water. These fruits replace sugary drinks with a yummy, healthy alternative. The biggest plus? Kids love fruit-infused water, too!

Here is a recipe for Pineapple Mint Water, one of our favorites:

  • Combine 48 ounces of filtered water, 2 cups of sliced pineapple, 1 cup of ice, and 8 mint leaves in a half gallon pitcher. Stir well and let sit in your refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours, but overnight is ideal. You can replace pineapple with halved blueberries or sliced cucumbers. Experiment! It will be delicious no matter what you do.

6. Weekly Date Nights

Whether you and your partner have been together for two months or twenty years, weekly date nights are a must. Spend quality time with your partner on a regular basis. This helps you keep the romance alive and keeps your weekends fun.

You can choose something casual, like drinks and dinner, or stir things up with dancing or laser tag. Making that connection with your partner will stimulate oxytocin production. These hormones enhance your connection with one another, as well as keep you young, alive, and feeling refreshed.

Enjoy Yourself This School Year Without The Guilt

There’s no need to feel guilty for being happy the kids are back in school. You had a wonderful summer and made memories that will last a lifetime. Now it’s time for you to take a little “me time” and rediscover that wonderful, fabulous you hiding behind your sunburn.  couple receiving massages
